Alkagesta participated in the International Petroleum and Natural Gas Enterprises Conference (IPEC) 2026 in Zhoushan, linking its attendance to the development of its China business and its petroleum products and biofuels trading operations. In its announcement, the company identified Bayram Bayramli, its China Business Developer, as its representative at the event in Zhejiang Province.

The conference took place at the Zhoushan International Conference Center. According to Alkagesta, the annual event draws participants from Asia, the Middle East and Europe, spanning oil and gas businesses, bulk commodity companies, port operators, bunker suppliers and trading houses. Its programme combines senior-level forums and industry presentations with business matchmaking and project signings.

Held under the auspices of the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, IPEC is described by Alkagesta as the principal promotional venue for Zhoushan’s oil and gas industrial chain. The company presented its attendance as part of the continuing development of its China business line, alongside its broader trading activities.

Alkagesta highlighted the expansion of Zhoushan’s bonded fuel supply base and the port’s initial steps into biofuel and methanol bunkering. It said those developments fit with the growth of its Geneva biofuels desk and its chartering function’s involvement in the product tanker market. The announcement therefore connects its interest in Zhoushan with both fuel trading and shipping activities.

The company also said direct contact with Chinese refiners, storage operators and bunker suppliers supports sourcing marine fuel cargoes for East Asian ports. It described that engagement as helping establish its position in a bunkering market that it characterised as among the fastest-growing globally.
