Alkagesta was a Bronze sponsor of the Commodities Innovation Awards 2026 in Geneva, where the company houses its European biofuels and chartering desks. In an announcement on its website, Alkagesta said board and executive representatives attended the event, which brought together participants from the commodities trading industry to recognise innovation and achievement.
The awards were jointly established by Ampersand World and Swiss business magazine Bilan. They focus on the Swiss commodities sector, recognising new approaches and solutions to challenges facing the global economy. According to Alkagesta, the 2026 programme covered seven categories, with a separate Personality of the Year Award also included.
Those categories spanned technological innovation, finance, markets and trading, sustainability, shipping, and supply chains and logistics, alongside a Special Jury Award. The programme therefore encompassed both trading activities and the transport and logistics functions that support commodity movements. Alkagesta’s announcement did not name the award recipients or identify individual company representatives who attended.
Explaining its sponsorship, Alkagesta presented industry collaboration and institutional relationships as important to navigating geopolitical disruption, the energy transition and increasingly complex supply chains. The company described Geneva as central to both the international commodities industry and its own European business, pointing specifically to the presence of its biofuels and chartering teams in the city.
Alkagesta also placed the sponsorship in the context of its wider activity during 2026. It said it had entered additional commodity segments, expanded sustainable fuels infrastructure and strengthened its presence in European and Asian markets. The announcement gave no project-level details or investment figures for that expansion, instead emphasising the Swiss trading community’s role in supporting relationships and longer-term growth.
